Cowper's Glands

Cowper’s glands secrete preseminal fluid, are paired and are pea sized. The ducts join the initial portion of the penile urethra. The glands are compound tubuloalveolar, resembling mucous secreting glands. They have simple columnar epithelium with clear mucus-like secretions containing galactose and galactosamine. This secretion is a major portion of the preseminal fluid.
