External Ear

External Earstops at the tympanic membrane (eardrum). It is made up of:

• Auricle (pinna), which collects and amplifies sound.
• Skin of the lateral wall of external auditory meatus contains hair follicles, sebaceous glands, ceruminous glands (modified apocrine sweat glands). Does not have eccrine sweat glands.
